Description

The funding program “Reduction of parental contributions for school day care” is aimed at families with low household income in the Carinthia region, particularly in the city of Villach. In the areas of children and youth, social affairs, as well as labor & social services, the Education Department of the City of Villach provides an income-dependent subsidy that reduces the costs for school afternoon care and after-school club attendance. The subsidy is granted indefinitely and adjusted annually according to newly established income guidelines. Applications can be submitted by private individuals at any time; missing documentation may be submitted within one month, otherwise the application will be considered withdrawn.

Interested parents and guardians with primary residence in Villach must demonstrate social need and submit the following documents: the previous year’s income tax assessment, proof of maternity allowance, childcare allowance, and family allowance, as well as notifications regarding unemployment benefits, emergency assistance, social welfare, or minimum income support. Additionally, information on received maintenance payments and recognized expenses pursuant to §§ 34 and 35 of the Income Tax Act (EStG) is required. After review of all documents by the City of Villach, approval is granted in the form of a cost reduction. This ongoing funding offer facilitates the reconciliation of family and work and contributes to equitable care for school children.
