The energy efficiency promotional loan supports companies, cooperatives, and public institutions in the construction of rental apartments and care home places in Vienna according to the highest ecological and climate-friendly standards. The aim of the measure is the realization of resource-conserving and recyclable construction projects that meet the requirements for sustainable energy efficiency and climate protection. The full combination with a main subsidy for new buildings ensures that only projects with a positive evaluation by the land advisory board or the developer competition jury are funded. This program is unlimited in duration and allows applications to be submitted at any time, enabling developers and project planners to flexibly submit their ideas for forward-looking residential buildings.

As a low-interest loan, the funding provides financial planning security and long-term investment certainty. Key evaluation criteria are compliance with ecological quality features as well as the climate-friendly design of the construction project. A prerequisite for approval is a positive assessment by expert juries and fulfillment of the general funding requirements for multi-family residential buildings. For the application, among other documents, an excerpt from the land register, approved submission plans in digital form, verifiable topographical data in XLS format, the legally binding building permit, and a description of the planned energy supply must be submitted.
