Description
The replacement grant scheme in Upper Austria provides private individuals with a recognized entitlement to a main benefit according to § 8 para. 1 of the Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act (ChG) 2008 as amended, with a full reimbursement of expenses for necessary trips. This includes journeys to official summons, medical examinations, treatments, as well as to work- and ability-oriented measures pursuant to §§ 8, 9, and 11 of the Upper Austrian Equal Opportunities Act. People with disabilities may include an accompanying person, provided that this person is not a relative and that the trip would not be possible or reasonable without support. The funding is permanently open and can always be applied for in conjunction with the main benefit application.
For cost reimbursement, the cheapest public transport must primarily be used. If its use is not feasible or unreasonable and no organized transport service is available, it is possible to claim travel expenses for a private vehicle. In addition to ticket prices and mileage allowances, expenses for the accompanying person are also eligible for funding. Organized transport services, however, are not covered. The district administrative authorities verify eligibility and mileage evidence and settle the expenses directly with the applicants. Required documents are the application form for the main benefit and proof of entitlement to the benefit. The funding rate is 100%, thus the assistance is provided in an unbureaucratic and full manner.
