Description
The creation of a comprehensive renovation concept for multi-family houses in Vienna is supported with a one-time, non-repayable grant of up to €5,000 – a maximum of 50% of the proven and reasonable costs. Both private individuals and companies can apply for the funding, provided they are owners of multi-family residential buildings, owners' associations (EG), or administrators appointed under the Condominium Act (WEG). The focus is on the topics of energy efficiency & renewable energies, residential construction & modernization, as well as infrastructure & urban development. The basis is § 21 of the Renovation and Decarbonization Regulation 2024. The measure serves the structural and energetic preparation of subsidized renovation projects and aims to increase the quality, transparency, and cost-effectiveness of upcoming modernizations. Applications can be submitted at any time, as the funding initiative is continuously open and offers maximum planning security.
Only expenses for the creation of the renovation concept in accordance with the guidelines are eligible for funding. As proof, a land register excerpt or lease agreement, an existing energy certificate, the WUKSEA registration confirmation, an energy certificate after renovation, as well as the final invoice must be submitted. The approved funding will be credited towards the later renovation subsidy within the framework of an overall subsidized project. This support lays the foundation for future-oriented residential modernization that contributes to greater energy efficiency, climate protection, and sustainable urban development. The budgeting is unlimited, and since it is a direct subsidy, the payment is made without bureaucratic hurdles. The initiative has been running since 01.05.2021 without time restrictions, allowing for flexible project planning. Implementation and processing are carried out by the City of Vienna – Housing Promotion and Conciliation Office for Housing Law Matters (MA 50); detailed information on requirements and procedures is available on the municipal funding portals.
