Description
The ESF+ basic education measures within the framework of the Adult Education Initiative are aimed at accredited educational institutions in Vienna and specifically promote basic competencies in German, mathematics, ICT, and citizenship. The goal is to facilitate access to labor market opportunities and social participation for people without or with limited formal schooling – including young people aged 15 and over as well as adults of all origins and first languages. With a funding rate of 100% and financing composed of 40% EU funds and 30% each from the federal government and the state of Vienna, barrier-free learning opportunities are created that take individual needs into account and strengthen social cohesion. Ongoing funding calls enable continuous application submissions without time restrictions.
A prerequisite for the grant is accreditation for basic education by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. Since the start of funding in 2012, interested educational institutions have been able to submit their project proposals within the published calls, thereby expanding the local educational offer. The program provides an important framework to promote participation and equal opportunities and supports experts and teaching teams in implementing modern learning concepts for diverse target groups. Accredited institutions thus contribute sustainably to strengthening qualifications and democratic competence in Vienna.
