Description

The ESF Plus Directive SMS Funding Program (2021–2027) – A – Youth Employment Assistance supports the integration of socially disadvantaged young people into training and employment in the Free State of Saxony. With a grant covering up to 90 percent of eligible expenses, socio-pedagogically accompanied qualification and employment projects are funded, primarily aiming at low-threshold access to career orientation and preparation. The focus is on measures that support the transition into company-based training or further preparatory vocational projects and promote the development of social skills as well as a stable daily structure. The goal is to facilitate young people—especially those who are socially disadvantaged and/or individually impaired—in entering the existing labor market system.

The funding is explicitly directed at non-profit organizations recognized as providers of independent child and youth welfare services, which can demonstrate extensive experience in the youth welfare sector. A prerequisite for participation is, among other things, that the planned measures target young people up to the age of 27 who reside in Saxony. Furthermore, it is expected that the organization has the necessary personnel, organizational, and spatial capacities to ensure a high-quality care offering. A key component of the funding requirements is the endorsement of the project by the local public youth welfare agency, ensuring close cooperation and the appropriateness of the measures.

Financing is provided as a grant over a project period of 18 months and covers, in addition to personnel expenses, material and administrative costs as well as allowances for participating individuals. The program design is oriented towards the labor market-related aspects of youth social work according to § 8 SGB VIII and the corresponding sector-specific recommendations in the state of Saxony. Interested organizations will find detailed information on application procedures, funding rates, and accounting modalities in the comprehensive submission forms and documents. Applications are to be submitted on specified deadlines via the SAB funding portal; currently, no applications are being accepted. This funding approach makes a decisive contribution to improving the professional prospects and social integration of young people, which is expected to have long-term positive effects on the regional labor and education situation.
