Description

Once a year, the Georges Anawati Foundation, in cooperation with the Catholic Academy Rottenburg-Stuttgart, invites Muslim and Christian students to submit their research contributions on interreligious dialogue in the form of an essay. Eligible to participate are private early-career researchers who are involved in the Academy’s conferences and workshops and are pursuing studies in Islamic, Christian, or related fields. The aim of this award format is to promote innovative and original approaches to interreligious understanding and to encourage students to develop scientifically grounded perspectives on Christian-Islamic dialogue. The three most outstanding essays are honored at a ceremonial award event and receive monetary prizes.

To apply, it is sufficient to submit the essay as a competition entry by the annually specified deadline. Selection is based on linguistic precision, rigorous scientific argumentation, a clear reference to interreligious dialogue, and the innovative quality of the work. The ongoing competition provides young researchers from across Germany with a platform to contribute impulses for democratic coexistence and social cohesion. The awarded contributions not only foster professional networking but also make a concrete contribution to strengthening mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims. Further details on participation requirements and deadlines will be announced with the call for submissions.
