Description
The Austrian membership contribution to the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) forms the financial basis enabling domestic research, technology, and innovation institutions as well as companies from Vienna to develop and implement space-capable services. As a continuously open grant program without time limitation (effective from 01.01.2025), it is specifically aimed at R&I stakeholders in the fields of research & innovation and science. The focus is on applications in satellite navigation and communication, earth observation, and weather forecasting – areas that are crucial for strengthening European and national innovation intensity.
Eligible for funding are Austrian research institutions, technology centers, and companies based in Vienna that either build upon Austria’s membership in EUMETSAT or require such membership. Applications can be submitted at any time, as no deadline is set. The objective of the measure is to promote cooperation and consolidate scientific expertise for the development of key technologies and the tackling of future-relevant challenges such as climate change and resource scarcity.
