European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) in Saarland – Entry through Internship into Training (EduPA) specifically supports vocational school students at Fachstufe I in Saarland who are ready for training by providing seamless guidance from the application process through the internship phase to the transition into an apprenticeship. Through individual support in coordinated measures, students are assisted in selecting suitable internship placements and are intensively accompanied during their practical vocational training. This funding measure is granted as a subsidy covering up to 40% of the eligible total costs – consisting of direct personnel costs as well as a flat-rate settlement for residual costs. Close coordination with the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy ensures substantive and formal compliance with the ESF+ framework conditions and enables effective local implementation of the program.

The funding program aims to support a smooth transition from school to work while simultaneously establishing individual advisory structures. Accompanied by experienced professionals, a tailored placement of internship positions is realized, which also includes potential follow-up support during the probationary period. The measure targets educational institutions, companies, interest groups, and associations with proven experience in supporting and promoting young people in transitional phases. With a clearly defined budget framework and strict evaluation criteria, the quality of support as well as successful placement into a training environment is ensured. This innovative approach not only strengthens the professional prospects of the participants but also significantly contributes to social inclusion and enhances competitiveness in the Saarland labor market.
