Description
The funding program "European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) in Saarland – Continuing Education" supports companies and public institutions in Saarland in professional qualification and further training. The program is funded within the framework of the political objective "Investments in Employment and Growth" and provides a grant of up to 40 percent of eligible expenses. Applicants, who may be legal entities under public or private law, can benefit from this funding provided that the specified funding regulations and requirements – such as proof of professional and personal competence – are met. This funding model is particularly aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to improve their competitiveness through targeted measures for securing skilled workers.
Within the framework of the program, the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy supports the initiative to expand continuing education offerings and tailor them specifically to the needs of the regional economy. Through cooperation with partners such as the Demography Network Saar (DNS) and the Saar Continuing Education Advisory Service (WBB), various activities are offered, ranging from company-related analyses and consultation sessions to workshops and seminars. The instruments range from a free employer attractiveness check to individual continuing education profiles and customized concepts that help companies address technological and demographic change. The guidelines for implementing the funded measures comply with current requirements, thus providing a transparent basis for the application process as well as for the proof of use of funds.
The funding is provided as a grant and aims to make a substantial contribution to personnel development, securing skilled workers, and increasing employer attractiveness. A two-stage selection process based on professional and personal performance criteria ensures that suitable project sponsors are selected. This helps ensure that investments in employee qualification contribute sustainably to the economic development and growth of Saarland. The program is therefore aimed at companies that want to optimally position themselves in a changing labor market and make their workforce future-proof – a measure that strengthens both regional and internal corporate competitiveness.
