Description
The funding program "European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) in Saarland" offers companies, educational institutions, public bodies, associations, and other organizations the opportunity to receive grants for projects in the areas of labor market, employment, as well as vocational training and further education. With a maximum funding rate of 40 percent of the eligible total costs, the program aims to strengthen the competitiveness and innovative capacity of the Saarland region. The developed measures particularly support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as institutions addressing the challenges of digital transformation, securing skilled labor, and social inclusion. Additionally, objectives such as promoting labor market participation, supporting the transition from school to work, and specific programs for the integration of (long-term) unemployed persons and third-country nationals are pursued. By aligning with the goals anchored in the ESF+ strategy of Saarland, equal opportunities, gender equality, and the sustainable development of the regional labor market structure are promoted.
Within the framework of a structured application procedure, coordinated by the responsible Intermediate Body and the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Women, and Health, applicants must submit, among other documents, a short application, a full application, project conception, and other required materials. A prerequisite for funding is that the applicant can demonstrate prior experience with EU funding measures and knowledge of the specific regional economic structures. Furthermore, compliance with fundamental rights and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU is required. With a clear focus on digital progress and the needs of the local workforce, this program offers forward-looking support that sustainably advances the social and economic structural transformation in Saarland.
