Description
The European Solidarity Corps supports young people aged 18 to 30 from all EU Member States in independently implementing creative and culturally inspired solidarity projects. Individuals or informal groups with at least five members residing in a participating EU country can apply for a grant to carry out initiatives in the fields of social cohesion and democracy, culture, environmental and nature conservation, digitalization, health, work & social affairs, culture & media, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. The funding enables operational activity without a host organization and allows ideas to grow concretely – from local art initiatives to cross-border actions.
The selection focuses on projects that promote inclusion and diversity, develop sustainable concepts for climate and environmental protection, accompany digital transformation processes, or strengthen participation in democratic life and integrate preventive health measures. Particular emphasis is placed on participants with limited access opportunities to EU funding who identify social challenges and develop creative solutions. Practical examples range from intercultural theater performances and urban gardening actions to poetry slams against hostility to democracy and upcycling workshops with traveling exhibitions. Through this program, young engaged individuals receive not only financial support but also the opportunity to build sustainable networks and actively drive positive change in their communities.
