Description
The European Collaborative Journalism Programme (ECJP) promotes cross-border collaboration among journalists in Europe and is aimed at junior and mid-career journalists from all 46 member states of the Council of Europe. At its core is a five-day intensive program in Northern Germany featuring expert inputs, interactive work sessions, and evening “Fireside Lounge Talks.” Additionally, participants convene at a follow-up meeting during the Dataharvest conference in Belgium to further pursue the developed story ideas and receive valuable feedback. The goal is to strengthen investigative research, consolidate expertise, and build an international network that endures beyond the event series.
The continuously open scholarship targets freelance as well as permanently employed editors who have already gained initial experience in collaborative journalism or who specifically wish to establish themselves in this field. The funding includes contributions to travel and accommodation costs as well as professional support from renowned mentors. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; a selection of participants is announced by the end of January of the following year. Interested parties can find extensive information on program structure, participation requirements, and procedures on the websites of the Alfred Toepfer Foundation F.V.S.
