Description
The “European Partnership for Pandemic Preparedness (Phase 2)” represents a Horizon Europe co-financing mechanism that sustainably strengthens cross-border pandemic preparedness within the EU. Starting from 10 February 2027, the one-stage call for proposals to continue and expand the existing research and innovation consortium will open, with a total budget of €63 million (50% funding rate). Over a period of 84 months, personnel costs, material expenses, subcontracting services, and financial support for third parties will be funded. Coordination by the current coordinator of the European Partnership for Pandemic Preparedness and the involvement of at least three independent partners from different EU Member States or associated countries are prerequisites. The focus lies on expanding clinical networks, coordinating partners, and promoting One Health approaches.
The call is addressed to research institutions, clinical trial centers, start-ups and SMEs in the health sector, public health authorities, regulatory bodies, and policymakers. The competition will evaluate the excellence of the project, its relevance and impact enhancement, as well as the quality and efficiency of implementation. An open science plan, dissemination and financing plan, and CVs of key personnel must be submitted. The submission deadline is 13 April 2027, 17:00 Brussels time. Successful consortia will contribute to establishing the EU as an internationally recognized leader in pandemic preparedness, networking European health research, and providing evidence-based strategies for future health crises.
