Description
The Skilled Workers Directive for Securing Skilled Labor in the Free State of Saxony promotes demand-oriented regional and cross-regional measures to strengthen the skilled labor potential. In the funding region of Saxony, counties, independent cities, municipalities belonging to counties, as well as natural and legal persons are eligible to implement projects in the fields of labor, regional development, labor & social affairs, or agriculture & rural development. Initiatives such as skilled labor campaigns, eLearning projects, networks for recruiting foreign skilled workers, and model projects for quality assurance are supported. The non-repayable funding volume amounts to up to 90% of eligible expenses, including personnel costs, material costs, as well as travel and accommodation expenses within the EU. Investment expenses, foreign travel outside the EU, flat rates, or pure conceptual services without implementation relevance are excluded.
A prerequisite for funding is prioritization by an established regional skilled labor alliance in the respective county or independent city. Applicants must submit a project description (VD 61033), the positive statement of the skilled labor alliance (VD 61030), proof of own funds, and the SAB application form (sabre61029). The professional selection is made by SAB after formal review and assessment of content relevance within the framework of the Saxon skilled labor strategy. Applications for regional measures can be submitted continuously; cross-regional projects require a separate project call by the State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport. The directive contributes to specifically addressing the demographic, structural, and economic conditions of the Saxon regions and to creating attractive workplaces and training locations in the long term.
