Description

In Carinthia, a skills-oriented employment program offers nonprofit organizations and public institutions sustainable support for people with disabilities. The focus is on day centers, employment workshops, qualification and employment projects, as well as targeted apprenticeships to promote individual strengths and enable meaningful access to working life. The subsidy according to § 11 paragraphs 1, 3, 4, 5 of the Carinthian Equal Opportunities Act supports the further development or maintenance of personal skills and facilitates equal participation in social life. Prerequisites include official approval under the Carinthian Home Act and a valid service contract with the State of Carinthia. Ongoing funding opportunities allow applications to be submitted at any time, with decisions made within four months.

Eligible for funding are persons who meet the definition of disability according to § 2 K-ChG and the personal requirements under § 5 K-ChG (Austrian citizens, asylum beneficiaries, and certain status groups). For the application, a vacant place in an approved facility is required. The informal or internal authority application must be accompanied by a social-medical assessment report, a specialist medical certificate (not older than one year), income proofs (e.g., income tax assessment, payslips, care allowance notice), as well as evidence of orphan and maintenance payments. Subsidies are directly invoiced to the service providers; participants contribute a solidarity-calculated personal contribution from income and care allowance. This funding instrument significantly contributes to the professional integration and social inclusion of the target group.
