Description
The Social Foundation of Hessian Football honors exemplary fair play gestures in organized football in Hesse as part of the "Fair is More" initiative. Each month, individuals, teams, clubs, and institutions are awarded who, through creative, original, and exemplary actions, make a positive contribution to social cohesion. Players, coaches, supervisors, and spectators can be nominated, as well as non-profit organizations, interest groups, and public institutions. Submissions are possible at any time and only require the indication of the match pairing, match date, and a concise description of the fair play gesture in the completed nomination form. The jury evaluates each submission based on its exemplary effect, originality, and the extent of the positive impact on social interaction.
In addition to certificates and cash prizes, the winners receive attractive material awards provided by LOTTO Hessen, the Hessian State Agency for Civic Education, and the Hessian Ministry for Family, Seniors, Sports, Health, and Care. From the twelve monthly winners, an outstanding fair play gesture is annually selected and honored with a special prize, highlighting "good practice examples" in club work. These awards not only raise awareness of respectful behavior in sports but also promote a long-term culture of appreciation on and off the field. Thus, the initiative significantly contributes to establishing fairness as a fundamental part of football culture in Hesse.
