Falling Walls Venture

Falling Walls Venture offers an international competition and pitch platform for science-based start-ups as part of the Falling Walls Global Call for Science Breakthroughs 2026. Participating companies from all research disciplines can apply from 02.02.2026 to 15.04.2026, provided they are no older than five years, already have a prototype or proof of concept, and are supported by a nominated institution (e.g., university, research institution, or accelerator). An independent jury evaluates the depth of innovation, commercial potential, business planning and presentation skills, expected impact, and team composition. Up to 25 finalists will present their research solutions on November 6, 2026, at the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin, receive high-quality video productions of their pitches, and be connected with investors, industry partners, and science decision-makers.

Falling Walls Venture targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and young founders who wish to showcase their entrepreneurial potential in the global scientific discourse. Participation offers the opportunity to be awarded the “Falling Walls Science Breakthrough of the Year” in the field of science start-ups, receive travel subsidies, and deepen access to funding and cooperation networks. Applications require a completed application form, a pitch deck (PDF), and a pitch video. The Falling Walls Foundation gGmbH organizes the program in Berlin and promotes exchange between research and industry to bring groundbreaking scientific solutions to the international stage.
