Description
Family allowance/daily allowance during the provision of health prevention measures offers ongoing financial support in Vienna in the form of a subsidy for privately insured individuals who no longer have entitlement to sickness benefit during a spa or rehabilitation stay. The funding applies in the areas of social affairs, health, as well as labor & social affairs and is processed together with the spa application without a separate request. The service provider is the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (Section II), which has ensured unlimited payment of the family or daily allowance since January 1, 2013. As a continuous funding option, the benefit is available on an ongoing basis and is aimed at insured persons who, due to the loss of entitlement to sickness benefit during their inpatient spa stay, rely on alternative income replacement benefits.
The funding objective is to ensure basic financial provision for families and solo travelers within the framework of health prevention measures. By combining it with the regular spa procedure, additional bureaucratic effort is eliminated, while the subsidy is paid out seamlessly. Interested insured persons gain financial planning security through this funding and can undertake the spa stay without an income gap. The legal basis is formed by the General Social Insurance Act (ASVG), supplemented by provisions of the GSVG and BSVG. Further details are available on the Federal Transparency Portal.
