Description
With the family allowance according to the Carinthian Family Promotion Act, the social and family benefits of the state of Carinthia are specifically aimed at needy households. Within the thematic areas of social affairs, children and youth, and work & social affairs, an income-dependent transfer payment in the form of a grant is provided. Eligible to apply are private individuals with their main residence in Carinthia who live together with at least one child under ten years of age in the same household and receive family allowance. Concurrent receipt of childcare allowance is excluded, and the weighted per capita income must not exceed the legally established maximum limit. The aim of the funding is to strengthen family bonds, enhance social participation, and sustainably promote self-help capabilities. The maximum duration of entitlement is 48 months, divided into stages of at least six months each.
Applications have been continuously possible since January 1, 2014, with no deadline. Department 4 – Family Promotion, Child Protection, Child and Youth Welfare, Equal Opportunities – processes funding applications at 100%. For a complete application, the following documents are required, among others: birth certificates of the children, notification of family allowance receipt, income proofs from the previous calendar year (e.g., income tax assessment or employee tax adjustment), evidence of social benefit receipts (AMS, social insurance, pensions), as well as, if applicable, maintenance agreements, maintenance orders, or divorce decrees. Additional specific documents may be requested if necessary. After reviewing all documents, a written funding approval is issued, and the monthly installments are paid retroactively from the month following the application submission.
