Description
The Maria-Ladenburger Foundation’s clinical internship funding is aimed at medical students of the University of Freiburg who wish to undertake an internship in a developing or emerging country. The goal is to reduce financial barriers and enable international practical experience that contributes to personal and professional development. The foundation provides a total of up to €10,000 per academic year to support up to five internships with a maximum of €2,000 each. This funding supports students who engage in medical assignments outside Europe to expand their clinical skills in resource-limited settings and develop intercultural competencies.
To be eligible for funding, applicants must be enrolled at the Medical Faculty of the University of Freiburg and plan an internship in a developing country. Concurrent financial support from other sources for the same internship project is excluded. The funds are granted as a one-time subsidy and may be used, for example, for travel expenses, accommodation, or local costs. Applications can be submitted continuously as long as the annual budget has not been exhausted. Award decisions are made by the faculty’s foundation representative after reviewing the project description and financing plan. Through this funding, the Maria-Ladenburger Foundation makes a sustainable contribution to the training of future physicians and supports practical healthcare provision in international partner regions.
