Description
The summer job initiative for clubs in the field of environmental and climate protection in Upper Austria promotes the creation of paid summer jobs at non-profit environmental and climate protection organizations. The aim of this initiative is to actively involve pupils and students aged 15 to 25 in the planning and implementation of measures in the areas of environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, and energy efficiency. Under professional supervision, participants gain valuable practical experience, while the clubs benefit from active support in administrative and operational tasks. The measure aims to strengthen the commitment of young people and simultaneously promote regional environmental and climate protection sustainably.
A maximum of two summer job positions per club are funded for a duration of one month (usually June to October). The state of Upper Austria covers 70% of the gross wage costs, including employer contributions and proportional special payments, limited to €700 per position. Clubs must have environmental protection, climate protection, climate rescue, or sustainability embedded in their purpose and provide tasks in project planning and administration. Registration is done via a registration form by no later than April 30 of each year. The following documents are required for the application: application form, funding declaration, description of the summer job activity, copy of the club statutes, registration and deregistration with the regional health insurance fund, wage or salary slips, and activity report of the summer interns. After completion and review of all documents, the funding amount will be disbursed, thereby strengthening both clubs and young talents alike.
