District heating connection ≥ 100 kW

The funding for district heating connections ≥ 100 kW supports companies, associations, and religious communities in connecting to highly efficient local and district heating systems throughout Austria. For a connection capacity of at least 100 kW, all system components within the property boundary are eligible for funding – from the transfer station and integration into the heating system to pipes, pumps, valves, storage tanks, and boilers. Excavation work, planning, and installation are also considered eligible expenses. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) benefit from a flat rate of €100 per kW for the first 500 kW and €70 per kW for each additional kilowatt hour, significantly easing investments in energy efficiency and climate protection.

Applications can be submitted in the period 01.03.2024 to 31.12.2050. Prerequisites for funding are a connection capacity ≥ 100 kW, submission prior to the first legally binding order, delivery, or start of construction, as well as a report from a financial institution for investment volumes exceeding €500,000. The processing is handled by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH, which acts as an expert in environmental funding. After reviewing the complete documentation, a funding proposal and contract conclusion are organized to ensure timely disbursement.
