Description
The CLAAS Foundation supports new student teams nationwide that are participating for the first time in the International Field Robot Event and wish to design an autonomous field robot. The aim of the financial support is to strengthen innovative approaches in the fields of agriculture & rural development, digitalization, as well as research & innovation. Each team can apply for grants of up to €1,500 for material costs of the basic equipment. The funding is aimed at privately organized groups of students from various disciplines who combine their technical and scientific skills to master tasks such as row navigation, plant recognition, or weed detection under real field conditions. By participating in the competition, participants gain practical insights into automation and artificial intelligence and establish contacts with experts from industry and research.
For the application by May 4, 2026, the following documents must be submitted by email: a brief cover letter outlining the project idea, a description of the planned robot, information about the team (names, ages, fields of study), as well as a materials and cost plan with the requested funding amount. The selection of funded teams will take place by the end of May 2026. With this program, the CLAAS Foundation not only supports the realization of initial prototypes but also the networking of young talents in an international environment. Student teams willing to take on this challenge and demonstrate their innovative strength are warmly invited by the CLAAS Foundation to submit their project ideas and thus contribute to sustainable agricultural technology of the future.
