Description

The film funding of the Austrian Film Institute, based in Vienna, offers nationwide unlimited grants for professional filmmakers as well as production and distribution companies located in Austria. In the fields of Culture, Media, and Education & Training, it supports all project phases from script and project development to production, marketing, and professional training. Eligible expenses include development costs, production costs, marketing measures, and qualification expenses. Eligible applicants are natural persons with Austrian citizenship or EU/EEA equivalence, as well as legal entities with a business establishment in Austria and company location within the EU/EEA. The project must not be feasible or only feasible to a limited extent without the funding grant and must concern an Austrian film or an Austrian-foreign co-production. Compliance with the Equal Treatment Act is mandatory.

The aim of the funding is the sustainable establishment of contemporary Austrian film in society and the economy.
