Description
In Baden-Württemberg, non-profit educational institutions in the Zollernalb district have the opportunity to provide their students in grades 7 and 8 with practical financial knowledge through the workshop "Giro Heroes," and students in grades 9 and 10 through the seminar "Finance Heroes." Under the sponsorship of the Foundation for Art, Education, and Culture and in cooperation with the mecodia Academy, interactive project days are held covering all relevant topics related to checking accounts, transfers, direct debits, online banking, credit, as well as PIN/TAN. Additionally, elements of household budgeting are taught to strengthen economic independence. The workshops are designed as playful seminars that promote personal and social skills as well as professional financial competence. The foundation covers 100% of the costs for qualified instructors, so there are no financial burdens for the participating schools.
The workshops for the year 2026 are already fully booked; however, pre-registrations for subsequent years are being accepted. A prerequisite for funding is affiliation with the school system in the Zollernalb district, ensuring that all non-profit schools in this region can be considered. To apply, it is sufficient to order the information document for schools in PDF format, which provides detailed information about the process and content. The offer is aimed at all educational institutions that wish to best prepare their students for the challenges of everyday financial life while sustainably strengthening their self-confidence and teamwork skills.
