Description

The state of Salzburg supports agricultural livestock holders and the Animal Carcass Disposal GmbH in the recovery of animal carcasses from inaccessible, mountainous terrain using helicopter operations. The aim of the funding is to prevent the spread of diseases and odor nuisances and to maintain the precautionary capacities of the animal carcass disposal company. If necessary, an application for a non-repayable grant can be submitted at any time as soon as a carcass has been reported and recovery has been ordered by the district administrative authority. The state covers 75% of the incurred helicopter recovery costs, up to a maximum of €800.00 gross per operation. The processing is carried out directly between the state of Salzburg and the helicopter company or the Animal Carcass Disposal GmbH.

A prerequisite for funding is the immediate reporting of the carcass to the official veterinarian of the responsible district authority, followed by the official order for recovery in accordance with § 17 para. 2 of the Animal Materials Ordinance. After commissioning a helicopter company, the service provider’s invoice, the confirmation from the official veterinarian, and the funding application from the Animal Carcass Disposal GmbH must be submitted. Payment is made promptly after verification of the documents. This funding offer is equally aimed at private livestock holders as well as companies and represents a continuously available support for safe and environmentally sound disposal in remote areas.
