Description
In the state of Salzburg, foster parents have access to continuous financial support in the form of a monthly foster care allowance as well as a one-time equipment grant. This subsidy supports the placement of infants, children, and adolescents whose welfare is at risk and for whom educational assistance alone is insufficient, or whose biological parents are temporarily or permanently unable to provide care. The funding is applied for by private individuals entering into foster care arrangements in Salzburg and is expressly aimed at foster parents who take on the special responsibility for vulnerable minors.
A prerequisite for granting the funding is the habitual residence of the children and adolescents in the state of Salzburg as well as the initiation of the procedure to support upbringing by the competent district administrative authority. Applications can be submitted continuously. For application review, proof of income of the person obligated to pay maintenance and the minor foster child is required. The aim of this funding is to provide foster parents with a reliable financial basis and thereby contribute to securing the welfare of the child. Responsible authorities provide comprehensive advice on the procedure, and interested foster parents are invited to submit an application promptly to the respective local district administrative authority.
