Description
The basic funding supports the Institute for the History of Rural Areas (IGLR) in Lower Austria over a period of three years (2025–2027) with annual disbursements in two installments. The aim of this funding is the long-term safeguarding and strengthening of historical and regional research in rural areas. The sponsor of this measure is the State of Lower Austria, which provides non-profit organizations, interest groups, and associations in the federal state with access to scientific resources. Through financial stability, archives can be made accessible, field studies conducted, and specialist publications produced to comprehensively document and make publicly available the cultural heritage of rural regions.
Only the registered non-profit association IGLR, based in Lower Austria and dedicated to researching historical developments, is eligible for funding. A prerequisite for the disbursement of the first installment is the timely submission of an annual program along with a balanced, detailed annual budget no later than January 1 of the following year. For the second installment, the accounting for the previous year must be submitted by June 30. The annual project duration of twelve months as well as the continuity of the research work are ensured through clear performance and reporting obligations. An annual program, a detailed financial plan, and the accounting must be applied for to meet the requirements of transparent use of funds. Thus, the funding provides a reliable basis to sustainably advance scientific projects in the field of rural history and to strengthen regional identity.
