Description
Funding for Tariff Compensation Losses VOR supports mobility in the Eastern region by compensating the Land Burgenland, according to its 12% shareholder stake in Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region (VOR) GmbH, for the resulting additional costs. The goal is to reimburse tariff compensation losses when passengers travel longer distances or use multiple modes of transport under the favorable regional tariff. Additionally, subsidies are granted for weekly, monthly, and annual tickets. The funding covers all areas of regional infrastructure and rural development and strengthens sustainable transport options without special access requirements. With a total budget of €3.944 million, private end users are directly relieved and encouraged to increase their use of public transport within the VOR area.
Applications can be submitted at any time, as the funding opportunity is continuously offered. Only expenses for tariff compensation losses and cost shares for time tickets (weekly, monthly, and annual tickets) are eligible for funding. Due to the simple grant conditions, support is available to all citizens of the Eastern region. The administration is handled by the Office of the Burgenland State Government, Department of Overall Traffic Coordination in Eisenstadt. Thus, the measure not only helps to alleviate individual mobility costs but also promotes environmentally friendly traffic shifts and makes an important contribution to infrastructure development in Burgenland.
