Description

Since January 1, 2007, the program has consolidated the funding and performance scholarships as well as awards and recognition prizes of the Viennese universities, thereby creating a central platform to honor outstanding achievements in science, teaching, and art. Participating institutions include the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK), the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, the Vienna University of Economics and Business (TALENTA), the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (Teaching Award), the Vienna University of Technology, the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Recognition Prizes and Vanessa Preger-McGillivray Prize), the University of Vienna with univie: summer/winter schools via the Innovation Center, as well as other prizes and scholarships from the City of Vienna’s Department of Culture. The program supports students at all levels (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate), teaching staff, and graduates who present excellent scientific theses, teaching concepts, or artistic projects. The awards recognize academic excellence, innovation, social relevance, and artistic quality with funding amounts of up to €1,000 per prize.

Applications can be submitted at any time through the respective university or their responsible departments and are usually made by nomination or internal submission from department heads and program directors. Required documents include an abstract of the thesis, a curriculum vitae, and proof of enrollment or teaching activity. Participants benefit, in addition to financial support, from increased visibility within the scientific and artistic communities in Vienna.
