Funding / Project Support from the Hamburg Foundation for the Promotion of Cancer Control

The Hamburg Foundation for the Promotion of Cancer Control is specifically committed to innovative individual projects in the field of tumor medicine. Based in Hamburg and focusing its activities in the Hamburg region, it supports non-profit organizations, companies, educational institutions, foundations, as well as public institutions engaged in prevention, diagnosis, therapy, aftercare, and basic tumor medical research. Grants of up to €25,000 per project are awarded annually at the beginning of the year. The allocation is carried out in an unbureaucratic manner and is guided by scientifically sound guidelines to advance new and promising approaches in cancer research. Particular emphasis is placed on the economical use of funds as well as on a sustainable contribution to improving patient care.

For the application, projects must be based in the Hamburg region and deemed worthy of funding. A preliminary inquiry must be submitted by December 31, including clear objectives, a detailed project and timeline plan, as well as proof of total financing. Selection is based on criteria such as scientific standards, contribution to tumor research, and economical management of funds. A complete application includes the completed preliminary inquiry form, a comprehensive project description, proof of total financing, and the final report after project completion. Through this structure, the foundation ensures a fair and transparent selection of fundable initiatives that can achieve significant progress in cancer control with limited resource expenditure.
