Support Circle "Thuringian Athletes to Paris" of the Thuringian Sports Aid Foundation

The funding association "Thuringian Athletes to Paris" is aimed at talented junior and elite athletes from Olympic and Paralympic disciplines who reside in or are affiliated with a club in Thuringia. The sponsor is the Thuringian Sports Aid Foundation, which provides individual support on a competitive sports basis with a total volume of around €27,000. Primarily funded are training courses, training camps, international competitions, as well as the procurement of sports equipment to create optimal conditions for preparation for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. Selection is based on results already achieved – at least 3rd place in German youth or junior championships – as well as recognized talent and potential of the athletes.

Once a year, the foundation, Olympic training center, and state sports federations award the grants during a ceremonial recognition event. Interested parties must present verified sporting achievements and prove membership in a Thuringian club or residence in Thuringia. The approved funds flow directly into concrete measures to reduce travel, accommodation, and equipment costs for participating athletes. This targeted funding aims to provide an ideal acknowledgment of previous achievements and at the same time contribute to compensating the expenses associated with elite sports for athletes, parents, and clubs.
