Funding Measures for the Integration and Support of People with a Migration Background

The funding program “Support Measures for the Integration and Care of People with a Migration Background” is aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions in Rhineland-Palatinate that are committed to equal social participation for all people. The program supports projects that contribute to the intercultural opening of regular institutions and the strengthening of volunteer work in the field of integration. Carriers of initiatives, migrant self-organizations, volunteer initiatives, and municipalities can implement innovative approaches to accompany and support refugees and asylum seekers. The goal is to sustainably improve existing structures and intensify intercultural exchange at the local level through the use of the provided grants.

The financial support includes a funding amount of up to €15,000 and can be used, among other things, for fees, personnel costs, travel expenses, room costs, as well as material costs and an administrative flat rate. In addition to classic funding, there is also the possibility to realize co-financing to access federal or EU funds. This measure supports projects that initiate integrative dialogue between newcomers and locals and strengthen the culture of recognition in society. Within the scope of the funding, particular support is given to projects that serve both the further training and education of employees and the organizational development of associations and institutions. Through these broad applications, a contribution is made to a contemporary integration policy that is oriented toward current societal challenges.

The application requirements demand that applicants prove their headquarters are located in Rhineland-Palatinate and submit a meaningful project description, a detailed financing plan, and a concept. It is important that funding applications are submitted at least 4–6 weeks before the planned project start and that the application deadline of November 15 is observed. Furthermore, it must be demonstrated why funding from the specialized departments is not possible. This clear structuring of the application process ensures that the requested funds can be used purposefully—and as effectively as possible. The program thus offers an excellent opportunity to initiate integrative projects in the region and contribute to social diversity in the long term.
