Description

The AKD funding program has supported projects in Protestant children’s and youth work in Berlin, Brandenburg, and the Silesian Upper Lusatia for many years. With a clear focus on education, leisure, and integration, the grant promotes initiatives that enable qualified educational offerings, extracurricular youth education, as well as experience-oriented leisure activities such as holiday trips and camps. Particularly emphasized are the Juleica courses, in which volunteer youth leaders are trained to ensure professional and sustainable supervision. The program is aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions active in their church districts or communities, thereby making a significant contribution to social participation and religious community.

Within the framework of the funding, a variety of projects can be applied for, aiming to support children and young people in their development and to provide them access to political, social, cultural, and ecological educational content. In addition to classical youth education work, special measures for extracurricular education and the promotion of religious practice are also supported. Innovative and sustainable concepts play a crucial role here, addressing the specific needs of the target group and considering aspects of inclusion. The grants primarily cover fees and material costs, facilitating the implementation of high-quality offerings.

Various documents are required for the application for funding, such as the application form, a detailed program with a timeline, proof of use, attendance lists, and factual reports. Applications can be submitted continuously – for measures covering the entire year, the deadline is January 15, while for other activities, applications can be submitted up to 14 days before the start on an ongoing basis. The decision on funding is made based on strict evaluation criteria, including the level of innovation, sustainability aspects, and the relevance of the project to the targeted group. This comprehensive funding concept thus offers an attractive opportunity to strengthen and further develop Protestant youth work in the region.
