Description
The funding program of the Hessian State Chancellery is aimed at non-profit organizations in Hesse that wish to sustainably strengthen civic engagement. The offer supports projects dedicated to recruiting new volunteers, conducting training sessions, digitalization, and building cooperative structures. With a grant of up to €15,000 and a funding rate of 90%, measures in the areas of social cohesion, democracy, labor, and social affairs are specifically promoted. Eligible expenses focus on personnel costs, material costs, and investments, while, for example, real estate acquisitions or retroactive costs are explicitly excluded.
The initiative is designed for organizations active in Hesse that meet the requirements by demonstrating non-profit status or an equivalent sponsoring status. The funding program places great emphasis on the sustainability of projects and the social added value generated by the supported measures. In addition to funding, projects that focus on knowledge transfer, exchange of experience, and recognition of engagement are supported. The ongoing application process enables interested parties to respond flexibly to current challenges and opportunities, thereby further advancing voluntary engagement.
The guideline encourages organizations to develop diverse ideas and innovative approaches to promote civic engagement. Applications must include, alongside a detailed project description and a financing plan, clear information on the target group, project structure, and expected impact. The clear structure of the guideline helps reduce administrative effort and make project work more effective. Through targeted support of innovative and sustainable measures, the program makes an important contribution to improving the framework conditions for volunteering, strengthens social cohesion, and promotes active participation in social and democratic processes in Hesse.
