Description

The Possehl Foundation provides continuous grants through its central funding portal in Schleswig-Holstein for projects based or located in Lübeck. Applicants from non-profit organizations, educational institutions, universities, or as private individuals receive support in the areas of construction and monument preservation, social individual assistance, children and youth, culture & media, research & innovation, as well as science. Funding is granted both for the preservation of the historic appearance of the Hanseatic city – including renovation measures on old town houses and monuments – and for non-profit initiatives that enrich social and cultural life. The foundation aims to secure the “beautiful image of the city and its facilities,” strengthen children and youth in their development, promote art and science, and support people in social need.

Applications can be submitted continuously via the funding portal; only in August do the meetings of the working committee and the foundation board pause. Applicants should upload their application in good time before the respective meeting date – three weeks in advance for grant amounts up to €10,000; larger projects undergo additional preliminary consultations and are decided within two to three months. Following a positive decision, the funds are also requested electronically. The Possehl Foundation thus offers uncomplicated access to financial support opportunities ranging from monument preservation projects and youth-oriented programs to innovative research or cultural initiatives. Interested parties can find all funding guidelines and information on accounting procedures in the portal.
