Funding Award "Dual Vocational Training" of the VerbundVolksbank OWL Foundation

Since 2015, the VerbundVolksbank OWL Foundation has been awarding the "Dual Vocational Training" sponsorship prize within the business area of VerbundVolksbank OWL eG to enhance the reputation of this practice-oriented vocational training in North Rhine-Westphalia. With a total prize money of €25,000, up to five graduates are honored who have completed their dual vocational training with above-average results and who are also voluntarily engaged in a club or institution. This prize sends a clear signal against the devaluation of the dual system, which is internationally regarded as a model and contributes to one of the lowest youth unemployment rates in Germany. The aim is to inspire young talents for dual vocational training, increase its appreciation, and equally recognize outstanding achievements and social commitment.

Eligible to apply are private individuals who have taken their examination at an institution or chamber within the business area of VerbundVolksbank OWL eG and have demonstrated a high level of professional competence. The jury evaluates the training completion, voluntary engagement, the completeness of the application documents, and the personal presentation in an interview round. In addition to a compelling justification for the application, a CV and final certificate must be submitted. The five selected awardees each receive €5,000 – of which €3,000 is paid in cash, €1,000 for a further training measure, and €1,000 to support the respective organization. This award honors not only professional excellence but also the contribution to a strong community in East Westphalia-Lippe.
