The Ulrich Florin Foundation annually awards particularly outstanding students of food technology with scholarships in the form of study trips to international conferences. Nationwide, participants in the field of food technology (at least in their fourth semester) can receive full funding, which includes flight and accommodation costs, conference and trade fair fees, as well as pocket money. The award recognizes exceptional academic achievements as well as social commitment and enriches scientific education through practical encounters with international experts and research trends.

With a funding rate of 100 percent, the foundation specifically supports education and training in the field of food sciences. The selected awardees benefit from a comprehensive trip to renowned events such as the IFT Congress or similar international trade fairs, where innovative technologies and new research findings in the areas of fat, salt, and sugar reduction, clean labeling, or AI-supported analytics are the focus. The decision is made by the board of trustees based on the applications, with professional qualifications, social engagement, and individual funding biographies being decisive. This funding opens up valuable networking opportunities for early-career scientists and contributes to the advancement of food technology.
