Funding Program of the Future Foundation for Agriculture

The Future Foundation for Agriculture continuously supports projects throughout Germany that promote a sustainable and ecological transformation in agriculture. With straightforward grants from donations and gifts, the foundation supports initiatives in the areas of organic plant breeding, animal welfare-oriented husbandry, agricultural education, and interdisciplinary research. The funding program aims to strengthen biodiversity, embed environmental and climate protection measures, and highlight agriculture concepts oriented toward the common good. Particularly innovative approaches that make a measurable contribution to sustainability are considered according to established evaluation criteria.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, foundations, educational institutions, start-ups, as well as companies based or operating in Germany. The prerequisite is that the submitted project makes a clear contribution to ecological and sustainable agriculture in one of the thematic areas of plant breeding, animal breeding, agricultural education, or independent research. Applicants submit a project description, a financing plan, and CVs of the involved experts. Grants may be used for personnel costs, material and travel expenses, as well as publication costs. The decision is based on the degree of innovation, practical relevance, and contribution to sustainability and biodiversity. There is no application deadline – applications can be submitted at any time. Thus, the Future Foundation for Agriculture offers a long-term and flexible funding opportunity for all those committed to an ecologically and socially balanced agricultural transition.
