Description
The Weit-Blick Funding Program is aimed at hospitals in Thuringia and additionally creates further training capacities in conservative ophthalmology. Funded training positions are complemented by a monthly observation day with outpatient trainers to familiarize prospective ophthalmologists early on with the realities of care outside the inpatient sector. The goal of the program is the sustainable assurance of comprehensive outpatient ophthalmological care throughout Thuringia by both expanding expertise in clinics and strengthening practical connections through observation in private practice. The combination with the Thuringia Scholarship ensures that the funding specifically targets physicians in training and provides optimal support.
Eligible for funding are public institutions and companies authorized to provide further training in ophthalmology in the Free State of Thuringia. Prerequisites include the combination with the Thuringia Scholarship as well as holding a valid authorization for hospital-based further training. Applications can be submitted at any time – there is no fixed deadline. For the application, the Weit-Blick Application Form (PDF) as well as the Weit-Blick Statute (PDF) are required. The initiative of the Foundation for the Promotion of Outpatient Medical Care in the Free State of Thuringia provides planning security for clinics and offers prospective ophthalmologists optimal career prospects in the outpatient sector.
