Funding Project: Parish Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Foundation of Upper Franconia supports community-based pastoral care activities in Bavaria by providing a grant for workshop costs. Eligible recipients are non-profit interest groups or other associations engaged in the fields of social affairs, social cohesion and democracy, education, as well as training and further education. The funding project is exclusively aimed at non-profit organizations and offers ongoing application opportunities. The goal is to enable full-time and volunteer staff in church congregations to competently design pastoral care services in everyday life: from visits to hospitals or nursing homes to accompaniment in community groups.

By specifically financing workshops, participants receive practical impulses to sustainably strengthen service to others. Workshop content may include methods of communication, self-care, and community work. All costs directly associated with the implementation are eligible for funding. The initiative supports staff in acting resiliently and empathetically despite growing societal challenges. Congregations benefit from a trained team that understands pastoral care as an integral part of church life and thereby promotes social cohesion locally.
