Funding Project: Pastoral Care in the Nursing Home

This funding program supports non-profit organizations in Bavaria in expanding pastoral care services in senior homes of Diakonie Bayreuth. The focus is on providing an additional 100 hours of pastoral care over a period of twelve months in the year 2021. The goal is to enable residents to receive recurring spiritual support and empathetic accompaniment. Through cooperation with Diakonie Bayreuth and the operation of a senior home in Upper Franconia, the framework conditions for funding are established. The grant is awarded continuously, allowing applications to be submitted at any time and enabling flexible responses to local needs.

The funding project addresses the health and social distress of loneliness and isolation, which can arise due to visitation restrictions. It targets residential senior facilities that offer their residents regular opportunities for conversation, prayers, and communal singing together with qualified pastoral caregivers. This not only strengthens social participation but also promotes emotional well-being. The coordinated additional deployments help to reduce psychological stress and sustainably improve the quality of life in care facilities. Organizations that meet the funding requirements benefit from a grant model focused on the themes of social affairs, health, as well as labor & social affairs.
