Description

The Bergedorf-Bille Foundation continuously supports charitable projects in Hamburg that serve youth welfare, elderly care, international understanding, and charitable purposes. Eligible recipients include non-profit associations and initiatives, social entrepreneurship or social enterprises, as well as cultural and educational institutions. Funding is provided particularly for projects in the idea phase (seed funding), implementation, and follow-up financing. The thematic range extends from educational and social projects to democratic participation and promotion of democracy, as well as research, innovation, and vocational training. Financial support is granted in the form of subsidies for material and personnel costs, complemented by non-monetary services such as consulting, professional services, or networking. There is no upper limit on the funding amount, which is determined according to the provisions of the statutes.

Submissions are possible at any time; there is no fixed deadline. A prerequisite for a successful application is proof of non-profit status, a detailed project description with a cost plan, and complete information about the applicant (including contact person and address). Subsequent financing of already implemented measures, precautionary funds, or pure fee subsidies will not be considered. Applications are to be submitted in a standardized manner via the foundation’s official form, which is available as a PDF. Close coordination with the funding committee and consideration of professional expertise ensure that approved funds are used concretely and effectively to strengthen social cohesion and democratic values in the Hamburg districts.
