Funding Projects & Study Support

The Ludwig Bölkow Foundation continuously supports practice-oriented and scientific initiatives throughout Germany. With a grant of up to 500 euros, the foundation funds project proposals, bachelor’s and master’s theses, as well as research stays in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energies, agriculture & rural development, mobility, environmental and nature conservation, and climate protection. Eligible applicants include educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and individuals such as students, researchers, and young professionals. Submissions must include a detailed project description, a curriculum vitae, and a cost or budget plan. Funding covers, among other things, travel expenses, materials and supplies, as well as printing costs for book publications. Selection is based on innovation content, sustainability aspects, and practical relevance, thereby enabling the strengthening of forward-looking ideas in science and practice.

The funding period is ongoing, allowing applications to be submitted at any time. The foundation’s goal is to contribute with these grants to fostering both new impulses in research and teaching as well as sustainable project approaches in practice. From the analysis of modern logistics concepts for emission-free mobility to agroforestry and climate protection projects – the range of supported initiatives reflects the diversity of funded topics. Through this funding initiative, not only scientific work is supported, but also long-term networks between universities, associations, and initiatives are strengthened.
