Description

The Health Professions Funding Guideline of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia supports state-recognized training institutions based in NRW in the education of occupational therapists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, masseurs, as well as medical bath attendants, podiatrists, and pharmaceutical-technical and medical-technical assistants. The aim is to alleviate the shortage of skilled workers in healthcare by fully reimbursing the tuition fees charged to trainees. The funding is provided as a 100% grant based on the monthly tuition fee per occupied training place as of 31 December 2017 and applies retroactively from 1 September 2018. This financially relieves the training providers and makes training in the aforementioned health professions more attractive.

Eligible to apply are providers of state-recognized training institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia. Requirements include, among others, that the number of participants in new courses is not significantly increased, no unauthorized tuition fee increase has taken place since 1 September 2018, and in the case of additional funding from third parties, the total funding does not exceed the tuition fee. Applications must be submitted to the responsible district government by 15 October of the previous year for courses starting in the first half of the year; additional application rounds are possible on 15 February and 15 June respectively. The completed application form (Annex 1), the preliminary overview of course-relevant data (Annex 1a), and the nominal list of course participants (Annex 1b) must be enclosed.
