Description
The funding guideline for Rural Development (RL LE/2014) of the Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development strengthens rural areas in Saxony through targeted measures of land consolidation and integrated rural development. Funding is provided for reorganization procedures under the Land Consolidation Act and the Agricultural Adjustment Act, as well as projects aimed at improving agricultural structure and regional economic strength. Eligible applicants include, among others: participant communities, water and soil associations, municipalities, private and legal entities, as well as coalitions of regional actors. A prerequisite is that projects are implemented in locations with up to 10,000 inhabitants (or up to 5,000 in LEADER areas) and have not yet commenced prior to application. The goal is to modernize structures, reduce investment barriers, and create sustainable employment potential.
Funding is provided as a grant with a funding rate of 65% to 90% of eligible expenses. Eligible costs include investments for land consolidation and reorganization measures, planning and surveying services, as well as infrastructure measures in rural areas. The complete application process, including notification of the measure start, overall and final payment application with proof of use, advance payment request, and declaration regarding information and publicity obligations, must be submitted to the districts or independent cities before the start of the measure. Continuous funding calls enable flexible project planning. In this way, interested municipal administrations, associations, and private individuals receive support for a future-proof development of the rural areas in Saxony.
