Description

The funding guideline Urban Greenery, Noise, Radon/2023 Part A ERDF funding specifically strengthens green infrastructure, noise protection measures on heavily burdened traffic routes, and projects to reduce radon concentration in existing buildings in the Free State of Saxony. Eligible applicants are municipal authorities and companies; in the radon sector, additionally non-profit organizations, recognized religious communities, and SMEs. Funding is provided, among other things, for planning concepts, the creation and enhancement of green and open spaces, extensive green roofs and façade greening, active green and passive noise reduction measures, as well as measures to reduce radon. The funding rate ranges between 75% and 85% of eligible expenses depending on the measure. Prerequisites include implementation in Saxony, evidence of noise pollution or radon measurement, professionally qualified planning, and public-law approvals. Applications can be submitted online at any time via the SAB funding portal.

With funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment, and Agriculture (SMUL) supports measures through the Saxon Development Bank – Förderbank – (SAB) that contribute to improving the urban climate, noise reduction, and health protection. In addition to classic green roofing, the guideline exemplarily promotes the installation of noise-reducing façades or radon extraction systems in listed existing buildings. Municipalities, non-profit organizations, and SMEs are invited to implement innovative projects within the framework of the Free State initiative Urban Greenery, which increase biodiversity in urban habitats and sustainably improve quality of life.
