Description
The STEB – Foundation for Engagement in Hamburg-Bergedorf offers non-profit organizations uncomplicated start-up funding and support for projects in Bergedorf through its funding pool. The goal is to strengthen voluntary engagement in the areas of arts & culture, education & upbringing, elderly care, as well as civic togetherness. The funding supports initiatives and associations based or active in the Bergedorf district that serve charitable purposes and do not engage in discriminatory, racist, or politically extreme activities. Formats aimed at the 50+ generation and intergenerational projects that promote exchange between young and old and thus contribute sustainably to neighborhood networking are particularly welcome. Project ideas can be submitted continuously and undergo a prompt decision-making process by the foundation’s board.
Project-related costs such as fees, volunteer allowances, materials, printing, technical and hospitality expenses, proportional administrative costs (e.g., insurance), training and further education expenses, as well as acquisitions directly related to the project are eligible for funding. Permanent personnel costs, general operating expenses (rent, insurance, telephone), and construction measures are not eligible. The maximum funding amount is €3,500. Applications must include a completed form along with a concise project description of no more than one DIN A4 page; optional image or graphic material may be additionally enclosed. The standardized procedure runs year-round without fixed deadlines, allowing initiatives to present their projects flexibly. Applications are submitted via the official STEB application form, which is available on the foundation’s website.
