Description
The initiative “a sauberes Festl” supports nonprofit associations, non-profit groups of individuals, political parties, disaster relief services, local church and religious communities, as well as local branches of pensioners’ organizations in Burgenland in organizing environmentally friendly and sustainable club festivals. The focus is on waste avoidance, resource conservation, and regionality, accompanied by measures such as waste separation, bicycle parking spaces, and a rental system for reusable cups. The goal is to raise public awareness of climate protection and environmentally friendly lifestyles while promoting concrete steps for action. A checklist “a sauberes Festl” sets minimum requirements such as the use of reusable tableware and the visible promotion of the label via banners. An event is considered eligible for funding if it achieves at least 50 points in the criteria catalog and meets all mandatory pre-checked criteria.
Service costs for the rental of reusable cups are funded at 30% or – upon reaching the minimum score – a flat rate of 150 euros per event. Applications can be submitted continuously but must be made at least three weeks before the start of the festival via the online form “Checklist a sauberes Festl.” Funding commitments are granted after chronological review of complete documents; no liability or legal entitlement to funding exists. After the event, compliance with the agreed measures must be demonstrated through photographic documentation and a verification form. In doing so, “a sauberes Festl” contributes to energy-efficient, climate-friendly club festivals and simultaneously strengthens the engagement of local communities in environmental protection.
